Biannual Membership Meeting

Board members present:  Amanda Taft, Deborah Gallagher, Ellen Franke, Mia Taft

Call to Order:  The meeting was held at the Churchland Public Library Coleman Room and called to order at 5:45pm with 20 members total (including the board). Refreshments were provided as well as FOPPL bookmarks & bingo with several prizes. 

Minutes: Over the last six months, Toby has been organizing and attending several outreach events. Together with Allie, a volunteer at the main branch, they attended outreach events at Churchland Primary & Intermediate School and Por. We have donated books to teachers at Simonsdale elementary due to a sudden influx of Childrens & young Adult books. We made a donation to St Brides correctional facility - donated 4 or 5 boxes to their library. We replaced broken tent bags for the PPL. We sponsored the local author expo, and will sponsor the next one on the first Saturday in June. There are 25 authors signed up right now. We are set to be a vendor at the youth outreach event again this year. It is free for us to attend.

Financial Report by Treasurer: In Jan, Feb & March we brought in $9,364, and we spent $728. The balance in our operating account is about 85,000.

New Business: We will be sponsoring the local author expo in June and attending the Portsmouth Behavioral Health youth outreach event in May. 

Library Director’s Report: Todd was not in attendance. 

Meeting Adjourned: The meeting was adjourned at 6:05pm.
